Then why do they have an oil for food program? This is utterly false
2. They invented writing.

And look how well it protects the weak, the widows and the orphans of Iraq today...
6. Five-thousand years ago, they had philosophers who attempted to list every known thing in the world.
Turns out they didn't know very much...
7. They were using Pythagoras' theorem 1,700 years before Pythagoras.

I'll bet dollars to donuts they were not "artificial"

"Formerly part of the Ottoman Empire, Iraq became an independent kingdom in 1932. A "republic" was proclaimed in 1958, but in actuality a series of military strongmen have ruled the country since then, the latest being SADDAM Husayn. Territorial disputes with Iran led to an inconclusive and costly eight-year war (1980-88). In August 1990 Iraq seized Kuwait"

Source

The people who occupy Iraq had nothing to do with any of the achievments listed in your message.

No I mean those people living there right now - they didn't invent any of the things listed. Period. You cannot give credit to a group of people for something their ancestors did thousands of years ago!!

You said that not I - credit is given where credit is due. Thousands of years ago the Ottomans did GRAND things! The Ottoman Empire included more than just the area of land that we now know as "Iraq" that did not exist then in any way/shape/form. The county of Iraq didn't do ANY of those things and its people are not entitled to the credit for them.

Period.

Oh spare me. Can you point me out to any of my threads where I "like to argue"?

You like to point out which of those statements are untrue, but offer no reason why, or explanation. Heck, you're not even smart enough to make something up.

"You cannot give credit to a group of people for something their ancestors did thousands of years ago!! "

History is what makes a people, you dope.

that wasn't the Iraqis. that was the Muslim empire, back when Baghdad was the capital of the whole spiel, and everyone loved them, and the golden age of Islam was picking up, when the empire extended from the Indus to the Atlantic. not anymore. once the middle east entered into its warring nations period, the advancements all dissipated into nothingness as petty war overtook everything else. Saying that the Muslim Empire represents Iraq is like saying Italy = the Roman Empire. which is WRONG.

I have a bone to pick with #19.... Abraham is NOT the "father" of Christianity. he plays a crucial role in the events leading up to Jesus' arrival on Earth, but saying he's the father of Christianity is like saying George Washington's Great grandfather on his mother's side was the father of the United States.

moreover, he is not a "Model" for Christians, at all. let's take a look at that word, first. "Christ" "ian" - like Christ. now, what conclusions can we draw from that, without even examining the Christian theology? that to be Christian is to strive to be "like Christ". not "like Abraham". not that he's not deserving of respect, because he's arguably one of the more interesting people in the Bible, but 19 is still blatantly wrong.

Who cares who the Iraqis are? Actually, I'll tell you who they are, they're an oppressed people. And we're taking out their oppressors. It's not like we're targeting civilians.

Resulting to petty attacks because you are wrong is a sign of foolishnes. If you wish to continue to look foolish to everyone on this board, continue to post.

Are the current inhabitants of modern-day Iraq direct descendents of the Babylonians of Hammurabi's time? If not, much of the original post is not valid.
