you're supposed to get the W-2 form from from your employer (UPS).

How did you file your taxes without your W-2? They usually come in threes (one for federal, one for state, one for you).

the W-2 is the statement of income your employer gives you

the W-4 is the form you fill out to tell your employer how much $ to withhold from your checks

i think someone is a bit confused, you don't file a W-2

UPS gave you a W-2 which you included a copy with your 1040 when you filed with the IRS. you should have an extra copy that UPS gave you in february

The W-2 is mailed to you along with state and federal copies. Then you must mail the state and federal copies back when you do your taxes. But there is a monetary limit where companies don't have to mail you one if you don't make enough.

Sadly, I don't have that number memorized. Three numbers are floating in my head: $400, $1500, and $4000. It might be one of those, probably the lower one.

If you didn't get a W-2, there is a substitute one here for federal purposes. Maybe the financial aid will let you use that. I don't have a pdf reader at the moment, so I'm not sure what that form says.

More information: "If you misplaced your W-2, contact your employer and be prepared with the information listed above. Your employer can replace the lost form with a ?reissued statement.? Be aware that your employer is allowed to charge you a fee for providing you with a new W-2."
