Who am I?

My name comes from a Latin poet who penned the line "Its time to drink".

I am over a hundred years old and known throughout the world. I am full of air and quite frankly you wouldn't want to know me if that was the opposite case. I have Casper's colouring and am definitely cheerful.
 
Bibendum ("Bib" for short).

Reminds me of a NTB radio ad I heard a while back for Michelin tires. At the end the announcer is telling you to come in to NTB "and you may have a chance to meet Bib, the Michelin Man. But please, if you do, don't call him the Marshmellow Man. He really hates that."
