I've actually got no food in my apartment whatsoever right now, outside of beer, a few bottles of hard alcohol, and various condiments. I've been afraid to go to the grocery store all week because of the crowd but I'm leaving for thanksgiving dinner at my parents' house in about an hour.
Our Cajun spiced fried turkey is finished! Smells so good! It's resting in the oven right now to give it crisp skin. Already ate about pound of the Honeybaked ham and couple slices of pecan pie.
2 10 inch cast iron skillets full of cornbread (not sweet)
3 cans of chicken broth
2 eggs
lots of poultry seasoning
lots of pepper
salt (about a tablespoon)
onion (cooked in chicken broth - diced)
4 slices of toast
crumble toast and cornbread up real fine in large bowl
pour 2 cans of chicken broth over it
cook 1 diced onion in remaining can
pour that over it
Mix with hands real well
Add poultry seasoning pepper and salt (tast and adjust as you go)
When you get the taste right add two whipped eggs. . .
mix well
put in baking dish
Bake about an hour at 350 ish. . .should be brown on top when done. . .
I'm in my fortress of solitude eating turkey, prime rib, honey ham, mashed potatoes, and some vegetables. I'm celebrating Thanksgiving with my parrots.
