Nothing here either, must be a pretty limited thing. Oh well it's not like the full release is that far off.

Um...why would the update fix your 360? If the previous update was causing your 360 to lock up, don't you think all 360s would be locking up?

It only started freezing in the last week, and one of the times I booted the 360 up it came up with an E71 error which rumor on the nets is that its a firmware issue.

So maybe a new flash of firmware will fix it, maybe not. Worth a try at least.

Ya, on the latest Major Nelson podcast, he said something about seeing what they could do to just let everyone in who was able to "apply".

Just a week and a half until the official launch, I'm looking forward to it.

I didn't get an email but on Saturday I was able to download the update. It takes a little getting used to, but I think I like it. My wife loves the avatar creator. What I liked the most is when browsing through menus everything came up very quickly. Even when downloading preview videos they came up super quick.

One problem that I did notice was when I tried to join a private chat with a friend within gears of war 2 his voice was coming thru very choppy and he said it sounded like I was talking in slow motion. But then when we would leave the private chat and go into the normal lobby chat it would be fine. I'm not sure if that was a one time fluke, or maybe because I have the NXE and he doesn't, either way it was annoying.

So you signed up for it, but didn't get an email and was prompted to download it anyway?

Correct. And I still have yet to receive an email.

No, I stopped my subscription about a year ago. I might have to sign up again. I'm just wondering what level of subscription I'll have to get in order to view on my xbox.

I'm pretty sure the $9 dollar subscription grants you access to it. When you do the 5$ one, you only get 2 hours worth of PC stream time which to my knowledge would also be the same on the Xbox.

I had no idea MS still let people in the preview. I just got an acceptance email and it says I'll get the NXE tomorrow at 2pm pst. Lets see if my fourth 360 gets bricked! :p

Same, I also just got the email. Very surprised - honestly it seems like they're doing this to roll out NXE in stages, instead of all at once.

That is definitely what they are doing. It makes sense as it's much safer on their servers. Also, I received an email as well! :D

AFAIK, they only added a relatively small amount of users, something like 10,000. Given that there's millions of users on Live, this is just another wave of testing.

Confirmed by Major Nelson:

We did it twice before and we?re going to do it again. We?re adding more people to the NXE Preview Program. This time, over 10,000 more Xbox LIVE members are being added in this third and final stage of the New Xbox Experience Preview Program. If you are chosen, you will receive an email later tonight (be sure to check your spam folder or add msftconn@microsoft.com to you safe list) followed by the update tomorrow (November 14th) afternoon (PT). As before, we?re only pulling names from those that originally signed up (there is no way to sign up if you missed it, sorry) and this selection process will be at random from those that previously filled out the Connect Program Survey from my original post. Again, this is final wave. All Xbox LIVE members will be getting the New Xbox Experience via Xbox LIVE November 19th.

I'm just surprised it was only 10k. I figured they'd roll it out on more and test it on a much bigger portion of Xbox systems. It makes sense to me. Anyway, glad that I made it in, and I can't wait to update it tomorrow. I'm so excited for the new dashboard that I'm more than likely going to sign up for Netflix just so I can have an instant queue on my Xbox. 9$ for unlimited movies instantly sounds like a great deal to me.

10000 is a pretty big number, even relatively speaking. Plus I don't think very many got to even sign up so it's not fair to count all users of live.
