I have always wondered this because alot of time Bi-Lo here in SC will put a sale of either Pepsi product 12 packs for 1.88, or coke 12-packs for 1.88. The thing that confuses me is that sometimes Dr. Pepper goes on sale with Pepsi, and other times it goes on sale with Coke. What's up?

Mr Pibb is owned by Coca Cola

Dr Pepper is however bottled at some Coca Cola bottling plants.

DPSU is the largest division of London-based Cadbury Schweppes plc. DPSU beverages date back to 1783 internationally (Schweppes). We also own the oldest major soft drink brand in the U.S., Dr Pepper, created in Waco, Texas in 1885.

<< Dr Pepper is however bottled at some Coca Cola bottling plants. >>

- I doubt that is true, but I guess stranger things have happened.

From its U.S. beginnings in a Waco, Texas, drugstore to making the world taste better, the Dr Pepper/Seven Up, Inc.family of brands provides ice-cold refreshment for thirsty people of all ages.

As the largest non-cola soft drink enterprise in the U.S., Dr Pepper/Seven Up, Inc. has just what you want, including national brands such as Dr Pepper, 7 UP, A&W Root Beer, Sunkist, Canada Dry, Squirt, Hawaiian Punch, Schweppes, Welch's and Country Time Lemonade Flavored Drink. DPSU also owns regional brands including Sundrop, Vernors, Cactus Cooler, Tahitian Treat and Hires, in addition to premium brands such as IBC Root Beer and Crush.

DPSU is the largest division of London-based Cadbury Schweppes plc. DPSU beverages date back to 1783 internationally (Schweppes). We also own the oldest major soft drink brand in the U.S., Dr Pepper, created in Waco, Texas in 1885.

DPSU owns the brands and franchises geographic territories to its bottlers. We also produce the concentrate used to make the beverages. In 1999 DPSU surpassed the one billion case mark, which comes to 24 billion, 12-ounce cans of beverages!

Pepsi has Storm, Coke has Sprite, and 7UP/Dr. Pepper is its own little company.

I also think Pepsi came out with Sierra Mist, which is like 7UP, but tastes like a tangy pool of spit.

Cherry Coke tastes like Dr Pepper?

Either my taste buds are out of whack or yours are.

Dr Pepper and Mr Pibb taste very similar, Mr Pibb is not as acidic as Dr Pepper.

I could of sworn that there were still some Coca Cola bottling plants still bottling for Dr Pepper, they used to.

Sorta related, Mellow Yellow is owned by Coke... funny because whenever I bring it to school we always joke that its one of those cheap Mountain Dew knock-offs, when actually its owned by Coca Cola :D

My DP says it was "bottled by a member of the CCE Bottling Group, Atlanta, Georgia under the AUTHORITY of the Dr. Pepper Company, Plano, Texas."

Both Pepsi and Coca-Cola bottle Dr. Pepper. It depends on who has the franchise rights in an area.
