Not my go-to shop, but they have good deals time to time especially on bags and accessories they are blowing out.

Also if I have to have something 'today' and the other usual suspects don't carry it, I can find it there.

TigerDirect is about 30mins further, but if I need a B&M that's where I usually end up.

I tried to buy from Best Buy last week. Our CEO needed a new tablet and was leaving on a trip the next day. My goal was to pick up a tablet and keyboard case for him. I really wanted to get him the Logitech Ultrathin keyboard case but I didn't know if they carried it.

I knew exactly what I wanted, Samsung Tab 3 2014 Edition or Samsung G Tab Pro. I just didn't know if the Pro was available in GSM or not. I walked right into the Samsung area of the store and browsed. The store was fucking dead but there were no helpers. OK fine, I wandered around touching things and finally heard some voices. There were 2 helpers standing there chatting. They looked at me and kept chatting. I waited more and then waited some more. Finally some short lil idiot came up and asked if he could help. I said yes, I need to know the difference between the 2014 and the Pro and if they have either in a GSM model. He starts looking at the tags and says he will be back. More waiting....then more waiting. When he finally came back he said the only tablets they carry in 4G are 7". What? I ask him nicely if he is sure and he puffs out his chest and declares that he knows for sure. OK fine, fuck you. He says he is going to look at something and will be right back. I just walked out.

I was ready to pay the $899 for the tablet plus the $100 for the case. But no, they apparently didn't need the money. I went home and ordered a brand new 2014 and a keyboard case off Ebay for $550. The Ultrathin didn't fit :(

Why not just have found a corner to sit in until someone magically came to you?

You have some issues with things, I'd have just manned up walked to the first drone and tell them this is what I needed and have them make it happen for me.

But then again you probably have too much free time.

I'm 32. The last time I bought anything from BB was when I was given a gift card back in 2003. I've never bought anything from BB since.... How do they think they will win customers who habitually shop at Amazon, Ebay and tiger (like me)?

What demographic is BB aimed at? I'm thinking the 60 year old technical luddite.

Bingo. My mom got her phone wet, they tried to upgrade her to a new 2 year contract to replace her flip phone. When that failed (my account) they sold her a pay as you go phone. What did she really need? A new battery that I bought for $4 from Amazon which fixed her phone.

BB is for suckers.

if im "in the neighborhood" i take a peek to see if i can find any overly amazing open box deals. i usually never need anything and only look for gadgets i can shove in a desk/laptop bag.

last purchase was a power supply i needed immediately and they were the closest store that had semi-decent ones.

Bought a TV there a year or two ago. Bought an Xbox there earlier this year. Girl I was dating bought all new kitchen appliances and a new iPhone 5 there last year. For me and people I know, tends to be more for larger purchases than for movies or other small things.

It's called Amazon's Showroom for a reason.

last time i bought something was like 5 years ago. broke my steelseries merc stealth keyboard and i was on a binge of battlefield bad company and didn't want to wait 2 days to get it from Amazon. the local BBuy had the same keyboard in stock. it has that special gamers pad on the left side of the keyboard that's fantastic.

people who want things instantly. covers all ages
-snip-

Yep. When I need PC parts NOW I usually check their site for prices and BB always seems to have what I need on sale.

Once I'm in the store and have my new HHD or whatever in hand I'll usually check out other stuff. Might buy a CD; one time bought a new gas range that was on sale.

If I'm buying appliances (TV etc) I'd definitely check them out.

I don't care about service. I know how to find what I'm looking for. I only get annoyed if I have to stand in a long line at the register to pay.

I'm a single dad running a company by myself. I have no free time. What is it that occupies your time? Oh right, being a troll is hard work.

But if I'm dropping $1k at a store for a stupid tablet, I expect service. I am not going to beg them to take my money.

I've been finding their pricing to be pretty decent these days, at least on bigger ticket items.

They had the best price when I bought my washer/driver, my laptop, and my TV in recent years. I've also had them price match Amazon a few times without any hassle.

Computer parts and cables are probably a different story.

You gotta go in with very very low expectations... You know what, just order online and pick it up at the online orders kiosk. They don't try to peddle the warranty very hard when I pick stuff up there for some reason.

Wait, you run the company; but they built a work bench for you? Shouldn't have been a corner office?

I am hardly trollin', I don't fuck around when I go into a B&M. I find the first drone and whether it's a book bag or a laptop I need to pick up and ask them to either go get it, take me there or find who can help me.

I don't fuck around if I am shopping in a store.

I order almost 100% online and almost everyday something arrives. Yesterday was pillows, today was pillows and a perfume and hopefully Friday my new sheets, mattress pad and pillow cases (Sleep Number In-Balance :) ) arrive and I can be more comfortable at night.

Earlier this year I bought my Note 3 from them for $199 when it was $299 everywhere else. They were also the ones who told me about the 6GB Max data plan instead of dropping me to 2GB from unlimited (VZW's own website won't disclose it). And yes, I know there are apparently still ways to keep VZW unlimited.

The other reason was easy return if I didn't like it.

That said, I order most everything online.

I'll go into a best buy every so often when I have some down time between sales calls to check stuff out. I buy small stuff on occasion like speaker wires, cheap headphones, maybe get a good price on an old PS3 game and open box stuff. My last "big" purchase I can recall was when I bought Rocksmith.

Had an example of why I'm glad BB is still in my area. Needed a power supply today ASAP (didn't want to wait until Wednesday for Amazon Prime or Newegg's Shoprunner). Found a suitable one in stock at the local BB. Did a quick search and found it for $17.50 less at Walmart.com (of all places and lower than Amazon or Newegg). BB does price match them. Went down, asked an associate to help me find it. He looked it up and verified Walmart's price and I was out the door in about 15 minutes from start to finish (and am typing this on the PC it went into). Sometimes they're very handy and not all their employees are lame.

Got this for $77.24 with no waiting for days. Decent enough deal.

Sometimes I like to wander around there and just play with the stuff. Sometimes they have good deals. They also have a pretty decent selection of Bluray movies.

Last big ticket item I bought there was an iPad 1 back in 2010. They were offering a pretty good discount on open box ones. BB Canada doesn't seem to be quite as bad as the American version.
