America offers equal opportunity for EVERYONE. Minorities who say its not fair are wrong. There have been many minorities that have had nothing and acheived. Larry Elder for example, grew up in South Central LA. He worked his way through college and now has his own radio show. Other examples? Colin Powell, Condie rice, Alan Keys, JC watts, Al Sharpton, jesse Jackson.. etc. In this country if you are willing to work hard you can get anywhere. Employers are all about money, they hire the people best for the job and the hardest workers. AFF action hurts minorities because employers are afraid if they hire minorities they can't tell them what to do or else they will scream 'racisim" I am sick and tired of minorities saying how bad they have it instead of going out and changing it.

I will now go into a long detail to make a point.
My dad started with nothing, His parents were poor. right out of high school he joined the army. He has then since worked his way up and makes good money. He did it through hard work. He worked with whites and other minorities (actually had a black boss once) and he got ahead of them all by working hard. Now he makes too much for me to get FAFSA, and i cant get any schoalrships because im a white male. I graduated from my high school with honors and applied for many scolarships and got one for a free airline ticket anywhere in the state. Do i complain? no and i dont expect my parents to pay for my school. I work the summer and christmas and do odd jobs for money just as anyone can.

Race is only an issue in the country because people wont let it go. See yourself as an American not an African-American, Mexican-American, Irish-American and so on. Be proud without being the victim.

Blacks and minoritys can gain all the education and work hard and still be shut out. No white person's application for a job will ever be thrown out like an application with an ethic name many times is. Any good place to live will never be shut out to a white person. A white parent doesn't have to go to bed at night and wonder if their teenage kid might get shot by a police officer because they are minority. For many years minoritys were denied loans or charged higher interest because they were not white. Being born white in America has free privileges that minoritys have to "earn". Many prominent schools won't take people of color. Just like David whites have everything. No one will ever judge you to be less because your white. Your white color alone puts you 3-4 steps ahead of anyone else. But just like David you desire to have even more. You'll look to take, kill, and destroy. And hide behind the cloak of self righteousness. Thats why whites make up most of the Republican party. When will it ever be enough for almighty whitey? And as I have said before AA wasn't created because all things were equal. It was created because all things weren't and still are not equal. Martha Stewart epitomizes the character of the average white person. She had everything. That lady had enough money to live 100 lifetimes. But yet for a lousy 40 grand, which is like $5 to me, she gets caught up in some shady stuff. And I like Martha too. But it wasn't enough. Whats funny is most of these schools that want to do away with minority based scholarships are already close to 90% white anyway. Hmmmm....................sometimes I just sit in amazement.

No opportunity will ever be barred from a white person? I don't think it's really like that. I think maybe white people have some small edge over others, but it's not their fault and not so much to make others cry about. It's not like blacks don't have other advantages over other people.

The Martha Stewart comment is shady itself and I guess it shows a lot of your true character.

Martha stewart was poor, she earned what she has by hardwork my point. Hardwork not class, race, gender, ethcincity, religoon determine where you go.

Classy you are such a racist.
What you said is like me saying this
Black people have an unfair advantage because they are bigger faster stronger and can jump higher than whitey.

I agree, but that's only half the equation. If no one else sees you as an american, it doesn't work out too well.

It's hardly an excuse, as it's been a good description of events that have occured in American history. Japanese-American internment ring a bell? Second and third generation Americans thrown in camps because they weren't "American" enough.

And to give you a more recent example, look at the backlash against people of indian-pakistani-arab descent following the 9-11 attacks. All of a sudden these people are under a microscope because of terrorist attacks made by people that "look" like them. Well gee, I guess these people aren't so "American" anymore are they?

The reality is that people define what is "American." And to say that everyone in this country share the same idea of what is "American" is obviously untrue.

A title doesn't mean squat if no one else believes you to be worthy of it.

Backlash? Ten people were racially profiled, and you call that a backlash? That's just good detective work, my friend...

"Well, sir... all the terrorists were of middle eastern decent. Therefore, we will be on the lookout for white men approximately 5'10" in height."

Does that make any sense? No! I never said that there weren't racial problems, I just said that the race card is over-used nowadays.
