The WSJ reported that the scope of transitioning the Whitehouse was underestimated by Trumps team.

http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slat...erstand_scope_of_presidency_during_obama.html

They were unaware that the entire staff would have to be replaced.

Obama was going to spend more time than usual over the next two months showing him the ropes. The handover will include two war game simulations so he'll understand the types of decisions that will need to be made.

I think this shows Obamas character and commitment to a peaceful handover of power.

It also looks like Trump is beginning to understanding the commitment he's made here if this picture means anything:

He's not going to be dealing with just businessmen for the next four years.

He's going to have to deal and negotiate with bureaucrats, senators, congressmen, ambassadors, foreign leaders, etc. I do wonder how he's going to conduct himself against such people.

So they guy Trump has been blasting as the worst president ever and accusing of not even being a citizen of this country is going to be coaching and mentoring him the next two months for the job.

Thanks, Obama.

It was a regarding a Wall Street Journal article which is behind a paywall.

It's been reported elsewhere.
Which you also said at the start of your post, some people don't really read, they just see Trump bad and now question any source other than far right sites.

All you can do is keep exposing folks to the truth and hope they pick it up.

I don't see Trump as doing 2 terms, Donald Jr will probably run for the 2nd term.

During his initial meeting with Obama, I thought I saw a deer in the headlights look from the Donald.

Trump is a pragmatic guy, if Obama can spin him a bit, it'll go a long way towards preserving his (Obama's) legacy. I wouldn't be shocked to see Obama doing a lot of advising.

Funny you think anyone would believe this.

This deadspin article has a lot of pics from their meet that could be interpreted that way.

Trump should really just hire Obama as chief of staff instead of Priebus, and outsource the whole thing to Obama's team.

Seriously, you invoke the name WSJ and then link to Slate's "interpretation" of that article?

Slate, discredited along with the rest of the lefty media.

This must be the new tactic, lefty media links to credible media then re-interprets it for lefty consumption.

I read the WSJ article and its tone is nothing like Slate's.

Salon also reported on the WSJ article.
http://www.salon.com/2016/11/14/don...and-doesnt-even-know-how-the-west-wing-works/
They quoted the WSJ article.

During their private White House meeting on Thursday, Mr. Obama walked his successor through the duties of running the country, and Mr. Trump seemed surprised by the scope, said people familiar with the meeting. Trump aides were described by those people as unaware that the entire presidential staff working in the West Wing had to be replaced at the end of Mr. Obama’s term.

Which is verbatim of this paragraph from the Slate article:

During their private White House meeting on Thursday, Mr. Obama walked his successor through the duties of running the country, and Mr. Trump seemed surprised by the scope, said people familiar with the meeting. Trump aides were described by those people as unaware that the entire presidential staff working in the West Wing had to be replaced at the end of Mr. Obama’s term.

After meeting with Mr. Trump, the only person to be elected president without having held a government or military position, Mr. Obama realized the Republican needs more guidance. He plans to spend more time with his successor than presidents typically do, people familiar with the matter said.

What in particular do you have a problem with?

No. Both articles have the exact same quote from the WSJ article which is the basis for my post. So what exactly is your problem with it?

I'm guessing bc it talks about how the Cheeto Messiah is stunningly unqualified and unprepared, and is already fing this up.

Yeah, Priebus, Conway, Flynn, Gingrich, Bolton, among everybody else, had no idea. I mean, common. This is just pure puffery. GTFO.

He wants not to believe it, so he won't. Standard right wing denial of reality.

No, it defies any reasonable test of sanity that none of these people, that have been at the highest echelons of power, had any idea about any of it.

And for fucks sake, Obama didn't come into the WH after being a governor, or even a senior senator. He was a jr senator barely into his job after having state-level stuff. So don't play that game.
