Holy crap! Bottom of the 2nd inning was friggin' NUTS!

Bases loaded. Anderson (White Sox) hit a sacrifice fly to left fielder Matt Murton. Pierzynski bolts for home, collides with Barrett the catcher and they both fall. Pierzynski slams his hand down on home plate and gets up, along with Barrett. It looked like Pierzynski accidentally kind of bumped into him, so Barrett grabs him, turns him around and decks him in the face. HUGE fight happens, and Anderson goes nuts on first baseman Mabry!

Mabry and Barrett are thrown out for the Cubs.
Pierzynski and Anderson are thrown out for the Sox.

After all this, the Cubs walk Podsednik, and then Tadahito Iguchi hits a Grand Slam!

Unbelievable.

and then Anderson just comes out of nowhere, swinging at everything (even the air). Kind of like he does when he's at the plate. 😛 I love the Sox. 🙂

Agreed. Barrett really had no grounds to punch him. If you hog the entire home plate, you sort of HAVE to be expecting a collision. It was a clean play. Barrett was just frustrated.
 
Pierzinski definitely did not deserve to be ejected. He did not initiate anything that was unreasonable, and didn't even retaliate at all.
 
Just remember that AJ Pierzyinski is a piece of crap. Nobody in the league is gonna shed a tear for him getting decked by Barrett (warranted or not).

Here's how much of a waste of human flesh he is: in a spring training game when he was with the Giants, he got hit in the groin with a pitch while he was crouching behind the plate. The Giants trainer asked him how it felt, and then Pierzynski shouted "Like This!" and then kneed the trainer in the balls as hard as he could.

You want more proof? Type in "clubhouse cancer" into Google and hit "I Feel Lucky."
 
A player's past should not matter in whether or not you think the decision was fair or not. Ron Artest who's had as stained a past as one can have certainly didn't deserve that suspension in the Spurs series either for what he did, but it was simply his past that dictated the outcome..

Yeah, but it makes me laugh my ass off when I see him get blasted in the jaw like that. It doesn't make it RIGHT, but it makes it more fun to watch.
