White sheets and stains.

Boil the sheets in a bleach solution to whiten. Works better with linen than cotton but it works.

IIRC, at higher temps, water and bleach will start dissolving the cotton. Oh, and boiling water shrinks cotton as well.

I have nothing but white sheets but I’m not prone to spontaneous bleeding. That said, sweating and the occasional mouth breathing drool hasn’t been a problem for me. I typically change sheets every two weeks and just wash them on hot setting and they come out nice and clean and white.
