Installed a VisionTek GE FORCE2 MX on my 500E@700 Abit BF6 and every, I mean every game freezes up after the initial load giving a white (or blank) screen. Same goes for any benchmarking (3DMark 2000, Quake (Quaver), SI Sandra 2000). I thought I did all the right steps (uninstalled my Voodoo 3000 software in Add/REMOVE, removed the display adapter in Device Manager, removed all instances of Voodoo & 3DFX in Regedit) shut down, installed the new card, rebooted, and then installed Detonator 3 drivers. Nice 2D, but can't play games. Ctl/Alt/Del doesn't show anything running except the Sound icon. I'm hesitant to reinstall Win98 because I use the system hard for work related stuff. I know the card is ok since I put it in another system (BE6)and it works fine. It's got to be (I think) a dll or vxd conflict I would think ... but I'm at a loss. Has anyone seen this problem, or can shed some light it would be greatly appreciated. My system is Abit BF6 (BX) PIII 500E@700, 128MB (2 CAS), 300W PS, WIN98, USB Active (Keyboard). DX7a & D3 drivers have been reloaded over & over again ... and I also tried to install a Diamond V550 and got the same results ... lockup and a blank screen. And I'm still spinning my wheels!!

I've heard that the GF2 has issues with modem IRQs--check that there's no conflict with your modem even if one doesn't show up on the device manager.

SantaClaws,
I have an external 3Com USB so I can try just leaving it off when I boot up and it won't install. I saw not conflicts in the Device Mangager so all looked well, and I'm not sure how I would find one if it didn't appear. Reading the forum some people have had trouble with to little voltage on the but .. I might try increasing that also if the bios allows it. I put my Velocity back in for now until I get another free day to dink with it. Thanks for the comeback.
