Hey Kids
Been having a problem the past couple days with my X1900XT, seems if I leave my rig idle for 30 minutes or so the screen goes white with vertical lines or displays crazy colors making it unreadable. Sometimes CCC will reset the GPU saying it wasn't responding to driver inputs but after a few seconds it reverts back then I get a reboot. WHen this occurs I will also have no power to USB and I usually need to unplug my PSU and wait a while then I can reboot but the splash screen will exhibit the same problem. It seems to be complete luck when I can get everything stable again.
Now my question is this, whenever this problem occurs I'm getting a low reading on the 3.3v from the PSU, it comes in around 2.8-2.9. Is that out of spec? It's consistent without fail, if I get a good boot then it reads 3.15v or so. But if I leave it idle then invariably the problem will occur and I'm back down to 2.8ish range. What exactly does the 3.3v power, the PCI-E slots and southbridge? I've left a post on the OCZ support forums but noone has replied to me yet. I've kind of got it narrowed down to the PSU or the mobo and I'm really hoping it's the PSU. Unfortunately I don't think there's anywhere in town where I can pick up a PSU with a 24 pin connector to verify.
Thanks.
