So I tried a White Russian that a friend mixed for me. While I'm not normally a fan of mixed drinks I found this to be surprisingly good (albeit concealing the kick of the 100 proof vodka, which may or may not be a bad thing).

What do ATOTers think? Good or no?

I usually go for the black russian (same as white but w/out the cream)...white russians are good but some bars use way too much cream and it too thick/heavy to enjoy...and def. can't handle more than a couple because of the cream...black russians on the other hand....

*edit*
I still voted that I like them...they are def. good to sip on, I just dont get them too often.

This particular White Russian was made with whole milk.

Booze + milk = fail. I always feel as if the milk is curdling in my stomach.

It's all about how they're mixed. Some bartenders make good ones, some make bad ones. It can really be a range from super tasty, to downright awful. I like the way I mix 'em, and if they're like that, I love 'em. A good sipping drink.

You would think so, but so far "Irish coffee" and "White Russians" seem to be quite all right even with milk.

I'm mildly lactose intolerant but haven't really had issues with the small amounts in mixed drinks.

They don't curdle up before swallowing like other milk drinks do, but they are heavy with sugars and just make my stomach turn. I drank them in high school and thought they were pretty good, but I probalby couldn't be convinced to drink another.

Yeah, pretty much same here.
