The thread title made me think of the "White Only Pies" in the movie "Life".

Is there any part of this thread that isn't a gross generalization on an entire race of people?

No, just the so called religion of islam.

There is no other major religion that has as one of the tenets of that religion the death of those that do not believe as they do.
I don't want to derail this thread, even though it's been done so already. All I have to say a777pilot is that I respect your beliefs, but you couldn't be farther from the truth. I'm not trying to be disrespectful in any way. I'm just offering a different viewpoint.

Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel. - Deuteronomy 17:12
Whoever sacrifices to any god, except the Lord alone, shall be doomed. - Exodus 22:19
They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. - 2 Chronicles 15:12-13
Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors. "The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him." - Deuteronomy 13:13-19

I can give other examples, but these verses from the Bible basically make Christians as bad as Muslims, if what you say is what you believe.

Nothing wrong with it. I don't think Affirmative action was ever meant to be a long term thing.

At this point in time, our society has moved past back woods racism and I honestly don't think it matters what race you are when you're applying for a job. What matters are qualifications. You'll find that people of any racial background can over or under achieve. It's a personal choice not a race thing.

We've come leaps and bounds since the 50's.

There's no denying that races in America are much more equal today than they were in the 50s. However, it hasn't reached the point where race no longer matters. Even in the 21st century, minorities (blacks in particular) still face discrimination, even if it's not necessarily due to racism.

Plus, I like to take into account the distribution of wealth among professional athletes and rappers when talking about race related financial topics.

White kids buy rap albums. Do you propose that 50 Cents' profits get passed onto country music sangers?

And, if you are going to distribute the wealth of professional athletes, does this mean black hockey players will start getting more exposure, money and play time?

I'm just suggesting that 40 acres and a mule is obsolete when you compare to 75% or above dominance of all major sports except hockey.

Those people didn't need any kind of affirmative action hand out, did they?

Professional athletes are in no way representative of the general populous of the country. It's a fraction of a fraction of a percent.

This would be the case in a perfect world. Unfortunately, our world is far from perfect.
Would you also feel the same way if a prospective employee puts sexy_chocolate251@hotmail.com, bimbam70@yahoo.com, or tweedledee-tweedledum@gmail.com instead of using firstname.lastname@hotmail.com or whatever derivative of that so it looks official or at least semi-official?

As a general rule, I use email addresses, along with other things such as major grammar/spelling mistakes to weed out people.
Is there any proof that an employee that uses sexy_chocolate251@hotmail.com, bimbam70@yahoo.com, or tweedledee_tweedledum@gmail.com will be less productive than one that doesn't?
Maybe not, but it helps you reduce the riff-raff by keeping a lot of people out and gives you more time to analyze the other people you selected.

In a perfect world, email addresses should be irrelevant.

Very bad idea. We need less race-based discrimination, not more.

Ideally, yes.

Unfortunately, minorities have been getting free rides for far, far too long and refuse to give it up. So, sadly, there's really no other option than to start leveling the playing field through obselete laws and using the outdated social niceities they use to gain unfair advantage.

I'm ok with it. As long as there are programs and benefits for a certain race and/or sex, there's nothing wrong with similar benefits for the other groups.

When did the professional sports industry single out and remove white players?
