White marks on newly painted walls... ?

I just painted my room dark brown about 1 week ago.

Today I noticed that when I rub the walls with my hands, a white dust seems to appear that wont brush away. This leaves light dusty streaks across the paint.

What could this be ?

How many coats did you put on?

Was it gloss\semi-gloss paint?
