White House plans to assemble group of scientists

to re-evaluate climate science conclusions

Oh boy this should be good, will Dr. Evil be there?

The White House is planning to assemble an "ad hoc group" of scientists to re-evaluate the federal government's current conclusions about climate science and the negative impact of fossil fuels, The Washington Post reported Sunday.
The Post, citing conversations with multiple unnamed administration officials, said that the group "would include scientists who question the severity of climate impacts and the extent to which humans contribute to the problem."
The group would include researchers from within the government, the paper said.

The proposed panel is a veritable who’s who of the climate change (physics) denying right.

  • Judith Curry
  • John Christy
  • Richard Lindzen

To name a few.

It’s so apparently being set up as an ad hoc committee to avoid public reporting.

They will have zero policy or legislative power. A panel like this, or anyone using their "conclusions," will actually have to go to court and present compelling evidence against the overwhelming scientific consensus to try and challenge any law on the books related to climate change.

This is just red meat for the slobbering masses that will jubilantly bleed themselves on the Alter of Trump.

This entire administration is basically a farce. Notorious climate deniers on a climate change panel. The EPA is literally run by fossil fuel lobbyists. Social conservatives trying to push abstinence programs to the exclusion of all else because they hate people fucking. Plutocrats who admire the excesses of Mr. Burns running essentially everything through the shills they've gotten into positions where policy is decided.

As far as these "scientists" are concerned, their credentials mean absolutely nothing.

In this particular instance, what's of much more import is who they were working for before they entered gov't service, which ones are suck-up sycophants looking to get management jobs in the private sector and which ones have been bought off just like those working girls plying their tradecraft on back street corners downtown.

I'm happy to see we've settled this before knowing anything about it. Saves the effort of actually hearing what they have to say.

Trump doesn't like what the Climate report says so he'll do another one that suits his fancy. Easy-peasy.

Truth isn't truth in post-truth Trumplandia.

It has been settled. That’s what the consensus of practicing climate change scientists means. We don’t need to wait for a panel cherrypicked from the 3% and outside the 100% to know what they are going to say.

If 97% of oncologists say you need chemo but you decide to convene a panel of homeopaths don’t be suprised when the answer comes back drink our magic water.

why bring religion into this??

But if they are in fact creationist scientists then they are the ones bringing religion into it. We are just pointing it out. Assuming they are creationist scientists that is. And if they are, well...then no reason to listen to them as they would suck at being a scientist 🙂

What exactly do you think has been going on in the scientific community for decades? What they have to say is already widely known.

The battle of ideas in the scientific community about climate change has already happened and these guys lost. The purpose of this group is to cast doubt on the conclusions of science using the veneer of government authority.

First of all your assuming...….They don`t have to be creation scientists in order to not believe in global warming......

Just to clarify - since most get this wrong. The assertion from the "97%" is that there is agreeance in that the climate is changing.

There is not a consensus of 97% of the amount, cause, solutions, etc.

Trump has worked to deny the truth, so it's amazing to think that this group of people who are dedicated to denial would change their minds. One might as well expect Trump to become educated and wise. It won't happen.
