You know, unlike the Vulcans of Star Trek, who make their decisions based on logic and fact, these guys make it on ideology. These aren't Vulcans. There are Klingons in the White House!
-- Rep. David Wu (D-OR).

I heard the audio and it is the best trying to find a link...

Looney Left please put this guy in front of a microphone!

I like the one where he calls the guy an assh0le personally.

but this was spoken in the US Congress.

Put a microphone in front of me while talking to the pricks at Inphonic after I canceled my Sprint SERO plan and you'd get much more colorful words than that!

Some people really need to read from a script when speaking in public, like Kerry when he tries to tell a joke. And turns it into a death threat or an insult to the troops

That's not sarcasm that is wishful thinking. ;)

So he is making an analogy---which does not mean he believes its an actual fact----but the analogy sure accounts for a lot of facts---one way to destroy a country is to substitute the real leader with a counterfeit doing the enemy's bidding---and set your enemy on a course of self destruction----sound familiar anyone?

And Gaffs in front of open mics are frequent---maybe the worse was Reagan saying lets start WW3 now or words to that effect.

People on this forum sure get excited about the little things and ignore the big bottom lines.

Saw it on Olbermann tonight, it was awesome and I totally agree with Wu. I love Star Trek, as you can tell by my sig, I abhor this administration though. Looney Left will never be as bad as the radical facist fundamentalist far right.

Looks like the GOP will be a minority party for a very long time. Instead of doing some self reflection about why the American people have decided they had enough of them, they are still trying to play these immature gotcha games and soundbites. Get some new material.

It made perfect sense to me. Vulcans govern their actions by logic. Klingons simply go after everything and anything because of raw passion without starting to think. What do you not get?

The speech was by David Wu, (D. Oregon). Here's the video. Here's more of his speech.
"Now, this President has listened to some people, the so-called Vulcans in the White House, the ideologues. But unlike the Vulcans of Star Trek, who made the decisions based on logic and fact, these guys make it on ideology. These aren't Vulcans. There are Klingons in the White House. But unlike the real Klingons of Star Trek, these Klingons have never fought a battle of their own."

"Don't led faux Klingons send real Americans to war. It is wrong."
Ya think maybe he's trying to make a point with some humorous sarcasm?

Kardassians, man! Get the alien ideologies right.
You could be right. The Klingons eventually joined the Federation and became mostly good guys. Cardassians may be a better reference.

(Spelling corrected thanks to LcarsSystem).

He's wrong. Bush is a Ferengi!

A Ferengi could balance the budget and would negotiate a contract.

Additionally, a Ferengi would be able to win a war without one battle(Read Armin Shimmerman(quark)'s book The 34th Rule.
