Well, nothing I already did not know, but interesting nonetheless. For one, I in no way rely on MSM for my news as its seems to me to be a Corporate information outlet and in general not that interesting.

I get tired of the news media turning into entertainment media. Not sure how all that relates to manipulation, but it certainly highlights the great importance we have in keeping the internet free.

Ummm... duh? This is what every PR person in history has done. That's the whole goal of self-promotion, which, if you haven't figured out, is what a politician must do to be even remotely successful. Does this come as a surprise to you?

and this is new? you don't think Bush (either one) or clinton didn't do the same damn thing?

I agree that MSM seems to be the mouthpiece of the white house. But then that helps balance out teh fact that fox should change its name to Anti-obama channel.

anyone that gets the news from one outlet is limiting the information they should be getting.

Yeah, that sounds like pretty much any public or private enterprise controlling media interaction.

what do you think she means?

No, it isn't new. Thus my statement about it being nothing I didn't already know. However this is the first time I have seen an open admission of it from a white house communications director. I do however feel that it shows that the MSM should not be looked to for real news or information.

I also don't hold out much hope of one corporate news entity "balancing" out another.

This is the best state controlled news period ever. I guess if things turn out bad and the press gets a black eye they will just claim they were lied to. Oh, I forgot; it was, the news people telling the lies.

hehe, come on already. Way too much reading between the lines and thinking that there's some kind of Conspiracy here. They only "control the News" in the sense of what they let out of their Inner Circle(WH mainly). In no way do they Dictate to the MSM(including Fox) what they can Say/Report. The WH "control" is merely not letting the MSM Know certain things, but letting them Know other things. That's a significant and non-Conspiratorial difference.

It's not really a conspiracy or anything like that. It's that the people who obama surround himself with, this lady in particular say things that should raise an eyebrow. A few goof ups, sure everybody slips up. It's the pattern of behavior and beliefs that are concerning.

Stating an obvious Truth shouldn't raise eyebrows. Speaks more about those who prefer Lies, as far as I'm concerned.

The 2008 presidential campaign is over now, so a more accurate headline would be "we made/controlled the news during the campaign"
