White House Closed for public Tours. Open for private tax payer paid parties

Yup.... And be ready for everyone to make claims that every past president has held huge private parties including paid superstar performers and that this is no big deal...... After all he works really really hard right? Rofl.....

Just another smack in the face for the people who support this clown. He makes it out like he is "sharing in sacrifice" for the American people, yet the moment the teleprompter turns off he's taking multi million dollar ultra exotic luxury vacations and having private taxpayer-paid house parties with justin timberlake. This is straight from socialist-leader 101 playbook. Tell the peasants you're suffering too, then close the curtains and spend their hard earned money.

"Justin Timberlake, Al Green, Ben Harper, Queen Latifah, Cyndi Lauper, Joshua Ledet, Sam Moore, Charlie Musselwhite, Mavis Staples, and others will be performing at the exclusive event."

Meanwhile USPP who protect the capitol are out of work - I have friends in the USPP who are out of work. These people have families and homes and not to mention policing the capitol of the world's most powerful nation is sort of a big deal. Let them stay at home while the President and his cronies listen to Nsync boy.

This man is a disgrace.

I guess this is what he meant by "spread the wealth around".

How can people really support this guy? I'm not saying Republicans are better - they're not.

Buh-buh-buh-buh congress sets the spending limits so he can just spend it alllll!

I mean hey, if it's free money just take it.... No different than welfare, food stamps, obamaphones, doesn't matter if you need them it's free money! You'd be stupid not to just take that free money!

"Private tax payer paid parties?"

This is a TV series put on by PBS. A lot more people will watch this than will ever tour the White House.

Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot that facts aren't really allowed in P&N. Please carry on with your irrational ranting.

Cool, I'll be watching.

Any proof that the taxpayers are paying for this shindig?

Only to the extent that PBS does receive some government funding.

Why it's okay to spend tax dollars on White House tours but not on White House events like this that will be appreciated by millions, well, that's beyond me.

Is PBS paying for security, set up, catering, etc? Please supply some facts to show who's paying for what.

Ok wait.... So a taxpayer funded government entity is paying for the party, yet the party isn't funded by taxpayers?

And I love the 'will be enjoyed by millions' excuse.... No kidding, you seriously sound like you're supporting a socialist regime... It's ok that he's blowing our money by the millions for his personal enjoyment, we get to live vicariously through the fancy pictures! You gotta be kidding me......

Meanwhile the sequester is cutting 20% of fed workers income, and the common American is suffering. Well, I guess they aren't suffering when watching obama party it up with justin timberlake and other pop stars? Rofl

The OP is protesting that this is happening while White House tours are closed. This benefits far more people than the tours do. Both cost tax dollars to operate.

I don't see any problem here (other than the usual problems with conseratives' ability to be rational.)

Who do you think pays for all of that stuff for White House tours?

It's the People's House, yet the people can't visit it.

So?

Should we cut PBS then?
Where is the "F Yes" option?

Sorry, there is absolutely zero need for a taxpayer funded television station. There is absolutely nothing provided by PBS that a commercially-driven network can't or already doesn't provide - no matter what side of the political spectrum you're on.

Aw, boo hoo hoo.

The Republicans wanted budget cuts. They got them.

What a bunch of whining.

This is not a "private party" -- the OP is lying. And yes, I'd rather prioritize events that will be viewed by millions than thousands.

It is a crying shame that Obama cut off the people's ability to access their own home using the excuse of "the sequester", yet throws a tax-payer funded private party to be televised on a tax-payer funded network.

Oh, did you get an invitation to the party? hmmm....

Um, millions visit the White House every year.

I don't give a flying fuck about White House tours. I asked you if PBS was paying for the costs of the party, and you failed to answer.

Stop moving the goalposts, and answer the question.

This.

It's the principle of the matter. I don't care if it's only a few thousand bucks, and I don't care if we spend money on white house tours. It's simply offensive for a dictator to tell "his people" that he is making huge sacrifices just like "us" when dumping millions into obvious personal enjoyment and 'betterment' projects.

If he wants to have a little block party then he should do it on his own dime.

I have a feeling that we're going to see a LOT more of these financial abuses for hsi personal benefit as the second term winds down.

Whine more.

The real crying shame is that asshole Republicans tried to score political points by holding the tax ceiling hostage -- a tax ceiling that needed raising because of spending they already authorized. They set the wheels in motion, and now they are crying like little babies because things got cut that they don't like.

Good. Choke on it.

Personally, I'd have preferred to see 100% of the sequester cuts come from our bloated, non-defence Defence Department.

It's so sad to me that every selfish thing our Dear Leader does is met with buh-buh-buh-but the republican assholes!! when there's no reasonable method to justify his egregious overspending for purely personal reasons.

Oh, I'm terribly sorry for pointing out the CAUSE of the things you are whining about, when that cause happens to be YOUR party.

Oh wait, I'm not. You guys caused this mess, and if it makes you look bad, you deserve it.

By the way, if PBS is so awful, why didn't the GOP defund it when they had control of everything for six years last decade?

Right.

.

Obama doesn't get to give away as much tax payer money as he wants.

And he takes his revenge on school children. No White House tours for them.

You must be very proud of him.

While it is amusing to see somebody CK CK with his own methodology I don't think your questions will lead anywhere. You are focused only on the logic of his reply as it can be picked apart and not the overarching thrust of his position, which is, that this whining as he puts it is a conservative phenomenon we are not sleepwalking in a constant state of disgust that makes us puke every time we hear the word Obama, that in shout, conservatives are using their brains for lunch meat.

CK's point, and an accurate one if I may add my opinion, is that the right has fundamentally gone crackers. So if you find something about this post that you see in violation of some fundamental logic, let me assure you I don't give a flying fuck either. My point that a logical argument on this is not possible with a person whose logic is driven by a need to get to a predetermined position.
