I have the Mitsubishi ws-65313. I've had it for about a year now, and I have to say it's one of the best investments I ever made. The 1080i picture is just gorgeous. I have Time Warner cable, and we have several decent HD channels, including HBO HD (shows like Sopranos, Carnivale, the new Rome series, as well as movies like The Terminal), Discovery, INHD, INHD2, and several others. Showtime is available but we don't subscribe.

DVDs play great; I just can't get my nvidia card set up right in 1080i... not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've read the AVSforum but nothing seems to work right for DVI output. But that's really a side issue; it performs very well, and I love it.

It doesn't do 720p, but it's never been an issue. If I had an Xbox it would be a big deal, I guess. Otherwise it's not an issue.

I paid $2400 a year ago. That was a good deal, and I would happily do it again, except I know I wouldn't have to because the price has come down so much 🙂

**** the TV industry. I'm going to stick with my normal, not high-def tv. If I want high def, I'll get something which is relatively cheap, few burn-in problems, 10-year lifr, MULTIPLE resolutions up to 2560 x 1920. Sure, I can't find one over 22", but it's cheap at around $500-$600.

I'm talking about a normal computer monitor CRTs can be heavy, and your limited by size, but you don't have to deal with all the crap that's going on with buying a bloody tv set now. I'm going to get a tv tuner card, some software and a remote control, have Tivo-ish functionality, and a greater versitality/less of a pain in the ass of dealing with "normal" marketed tv.

Congratulations tv industry, you've ensured I'm not going to buy any of your products unless you get with one bloody standard, STOP ADDING FEATURES that make it more difficult in buying a product (6 months later you need something else, such as copy protection to watch your movies). Remeber Betamax vs. VHS? Sure, the better standard lost out, but at least we got one technology and stuck with it.

Good call that this is HDCP compliant. Some makers of HD standalone players (HD DVD for sure, and probably blu ray as well) have mentioned they will only output analog low res content to TV's that dont have certain types of digital/encrypted type inputs. Which is going to piss off a TON of people who find out thier HDTV can't play HD content from players.

BTW, your BB link didn't work for me, you may want to update the OP with the model of this so ppl can use the search feature at BB site to find it.
