For all of you guys who are wondering, Whistler is awesome! I find it awesome for a Beta. As long as you follow the readme and don't pull any stunts on the Beta OS you'll be fine.
Whistler takes Win2000 drivers, and combines some of the best features of both operating systems into one. I have had absolutely no problems with it so far running on both a 56k dialup connection as well as a LAN with multiple T1 access. Major enhancements you will notice off the bat: boot up time, GUI enhancements, imporoved startup management (msconfig and services both work!), cmd.exe and command.com both execute @ run. Quake3 is running good - on par with Win2000 presently. All of my devices were autodetected and are running great.
If I were to rate the OS I'd give it a 8/10 for a Windows OS. The reason I won't give it a 9 is because 1) It's Beta and 2) It seems a bit sluggish with 128MB of RAM. If you have a fast processor (I'd say PII 400) with at least 256MB of RAM, save up your cash; this is a great operating system!
Cheers!
