Hi,
There's been some discussions about power supplies, I recently bought the whisper enermax 330/350 watt power supply to replace the antec pp303x I had before because my friend wanted to buy one and I wanted a quieter PS. The enermax is definitly quieter but not by much but the big difference is that it cools the case a lot more and the cpu. The enermax has a big fan on the bottom over the cpu whereas the antec has small slots, no fan. It dropped the case temp by 4-6C and cpu temp by 2C. I recommend highly, the whisper version is a quieter version of the enermax, same power supply but has some power save mode and quieter fans or something.

Hey Moodman, where did you get that Enermax from? And the 92mm on the bottom does look cool!

I got it at www.phamcomputer.com, they delivered it in one day since they ship by priority mail and are relatively close to me, $60 which is pretty cheap since other places have the regular non-whisper version for the same amount. And yeah, the white fand does look cool but I wonder why they didn't make the outside fan white too cause nobody can see the inside fan. :)

I just received one from www.phamcomputer.com, $60 Dual fan with one blow to the CPU! Very beautiful, totally different from other PSU. The shipping is cheap too, only $4 by Priority Mail through USPS. Just took me 2 days to get it. This is the component I've ever bought!

Hahaha, love it:D

Just a note, but the second fan pulls air into the power supply, and the back fan expels air out of the case.

take a piece of paper up to it. The bottom fan on an Enermax Dual Fan unit(the 92mm fan) pulls air out of the case).

Yup, the bottom fan blows air in and the back blows it out, I don't understand robin, why would you have to cut your case? Since the bottom fan is usually right above the cpu, it helps cool the cpu since it sucks the hot air coming from you cpu heatsink, also anybody know how the PS is suppose to shut off, it says that on/off is controlled by the motherboard, but when does it ever shut if off.

I don't mean to cut through my side panel. Under the PSU, there is a plate with some holes on it lies between the PSU and CPU. It blocks some air circulation. At first I think the 2nd fan blows, now I know it sucks. So I son't have to cut the plate now.

I am happy that the Enermax is finally catching on. I first saw a sample of the Enermax at a local distributor last fall and arranged a group buy in October, 1999. There were much bigger interest than I expected even for the $90 Enermax 450W. I am very happy with my purchase and so were my partners. (Hey, guys, less than half of you gave me a feedback at heatware.)

Here is one of the old post on this topic in January this year.
