The communicator pins in TNG/DS9/Voyager:

How the hell do they know who you want to talk to? I mean, Captain Picard will say, "Two to beam up", and only the person in the transporter room hears it. Or, Riker says, "Riker Here", and only captain Picard hears it. No one ever specifies who thier messages are supposed to go to, they always just go to the right person.

They modulated a neutrino field into a can of peas then crossphased it with the quantum inducer on the deflector dish.

What I wanna know is when can we expect the gravity-defying Borg Boobie Technology to be implemented. 😀

It's using the only all-digital PCS network, built from the ground up, so their calls always go to the right person.

It reads thoughts.

Now, why didn't they have a cam in it to watch what the away team is doing? I'm sure 24th century technology could adopt from the 21st and embed a camera in a communicator.

I'll use the Borg episode, Riker goes to the ship and describes the baby borg, and what he sees.

Bring an effing camera! Duh!

The funny thing is that Trip brings a digi-cam on away missions on Enterprise.
