While sitting, I 'popped' my back by twisting both ways (if that makes sense)

Just like cracking knuckles, if I'm sitting in the same position for a long time, I'll 'pop' my back. You know, just twist one way and twist the other and it 'pops'

I've done this many many times for years, but when I did it a few days ago, I must have pulled something. It hurts in the spot that normally would pop, and so I can't bend over far or turn much without it hurting pretty bad. I can stand up straight/walk with no pain though.

Anyway:
1) I would ask Google but I don't know what to type in
2) Anyone done the same before?

I think that the collective mind of ATOT will come up with nothing better than this...as a result I recommend that you consult with your healthcare provider.
 
I'd suggest thinking twice about cracking your back. Many of us do it but you can pinch your spinal cord by doing that or cracking your neck and give yourself seizures or paralysis.
