I have long said that Nato is fighting the Afghan war with the wrong tactics. And is doing nothing to end the Taliban's biggest selling point, namely the horribly corrupt Afghan government it helped create. The Taliban may be rotten, but the Afghan government is,
maybe not by intent, de facto even more rotten as drug money corrupts all.

Yet because the Afghan government is supposedly a democracy and more importantly provides
a structure that permits Nato to operate unhindered, Nato has turned a blind eye to the anarchy and corruption that flourishes. And somehow hopes that they can create an effective Afghan army that will be their allies.

This link shows that its not working very well, when the arms we provide the Afghan army ends up in the hands of the Taliban.

And so much for vaunted Nato intel when a simple reporter has to be the one that puts 2+2 together and does the simple research. And why should the Taliban make that long and difficult trek from Pakistan to Afghanistan ferrying supplies on their backs using shank's horses, when they can just bribe corrupt Afghan officials and get all the military supplies they need?
