Hear ye, hear ye car experts.
Pt. 1
So to get to work, I have two options.
I can go the shorter way and go up a very long steep hill
or
I can go the slightly longer way but no steep hills at all
What's the worst scenario for the engine overtime?
Pt. 2
Going down that same hill will push the engine without braking to at least 45+mph. Is it better to hit the brakes all the way down (thereby wearing them down way too fast) or shift down to 2nd or 3rd and let the engine to the stopping (high RPMs)?
I generally take the longer way and avoid the hill and I used to brake, but now shifting low.
What are the better ways!? I intend to keep the car for a long time...
