I'm planning to get a Zalman orb with a P4 2.4C and a IC7. (the zalmans fit right?) Which Zalman should i get? The Pure Cu one seems cheaper than the Cu/Alum one at newegg. I thought the hybrid was the "budget" one?

I'm looking at the 2 myself, and seriously considering the AlCu, for the simple fact that it doesn't weigh as much as a small child. I can live with the .02 difference in C/W.

The CuAl hybrid is lighter and more practical for most applications. It sacrifices very little in cooling performance. 1.5°C in a full load P4 and no difference in idle.

I purchased the CuAl hybrid and am very happy with it.

I'm way happy with my Zalman copper flower. That plus AS3, and temps went down by 10C compared to the (rather noisy) ThermalTake Volcano 7, even with the Zalman fan on the lowest setting. I was even able to remove two case fans for less noise. NB chip runs cooler, too, since the Zalman fan blows on it as well.

It is a very good price if you can pick up from SVC. However, it is usually cheaper to buy local saving the shipping cost.

I've been looking for reviews and/or opinions about the Cu/Alum version, anyone ?
