Which z77 motherboard?

I need to get a new motherboard, since this one won't work with gtx 970. It's a p67 chipset, b2 revision, which didn't get latest bios updates so I'm stuck with it.

These are the only two I can get:

1. Asus p8z77-v lx
2. Asus p8z77-m pro

I know that m pro is a mATX motherboard and I don't really use any of the pci slots so form factor is not an issue.

Also, lx has newer bios updates but doesn't have pwm heatsinks.

Any thoughts?

You are pretty limited with Z77 since it is an obsolete platform... get what you can get, or try used. Of those two, I'd probably get the Pro, but you didn't list prices.

Apparently gtx 700 and 900 require intel me8, and my motherboard didn't get that bios update. Strange thing is that the gpu worked for 6 months until removed from the pci-e slot, and after that pc just wouldn't post with it. Other gpus are working fine, and gtx 970 was sent for rma and they returned it as a working card.

I'll try to get the m-pro tomorrow, and if I can't then I'll be forced to get the v-lx. Better than having a gtx 970 in a box I guess.

::resolves to update BIOS on Z77E-ITX and verify me8 driver installation before upgrading video card::
