I have just pre-ordered an i9 11900K.

I want to make sure I get a motherboard that will have enough PCIe slots and at the right speeds. The board also needs to have at least 8 USB ports. 4 of those USB ports need to be USB 3.

Can somebody please recommend an Asus or Gigabyte Z590 motherboard for about £300 ($415) - £400 ($556).

This is going to be my build.

CPU - i9-11900K

Sound card – Asus Essence STX II 7.1 (this sound card has a motherboard and daughterboard and needs 2 PCIe slots)

Graphics card - RTX 3080

SSD - PCIe 4.0 NVMe - WD Black SN850 2TB M.2

Memory - Crucial Ballistix MAX 2 x 16GB 4000MHz.

id get a asrock z590 tiachi personally. no idea what the price is but i bet you will have 200$ spare. of course "enough pcie slots" no idea what that means, all of the boards should have the "right speeds" 8 usb but two are usbc, i personally buy a usb card to install because hate so much usb plugs next to each other.

I'm sorry, but you have to do your own research. Most of us here are in the US. Me telling you what I can get a ROG Strix Z590-A Gaming WIFI for here, will serve you no purpose.

his budget is 500+$ why would price be a issue with naming your ideal mobo.. ;/
I've seen people from other countries on here over the years where their local price for a particular brand/component can be as much as 100% higher than the U.S. pricing.

It is helpful when foreign posters say what shop (or share the website) they are buying their stuff from so we can see the particular models they are looking at.

i still stick with at least give a opinion instead of needing to know local prices. prob doesnt matter since they created account yesterday and logged out 5 mins later, prob gave up with the replies stating they needed to know the local weather ;P

Yeah, a lot of the new accounts are 1-2 posts and done.

Who knows for sure if they will even be back to get an answer?

Thank you for your replies
Que? o_O

No other details (or answers to the questions) you'd like to fill us in on?

Edit: I guess not:

They all got the generic "Thank you for your replies".

I'm beginning to think this user isn't really looking for motherboard suggestions. :sunglasses:

Is the asus Z590E gaming wifi available where you are?

I have a 11900k on preorder and considered the maximus hero z590 but didn't see the need to pay extra for the hero in this case. The rog strix z590e has decent power stages and shouldn't have any issues if you want to OC.

I'm considering cancelling my 11900k order though after the reviews.

I am not sure if you should cancel the preorder of 11900K. If you are gamer, the higher frequency might get more fps. If you want to do streaming and gaming, the Intel 10900K is better because of more cores (10c/20t vs 6c/12t)

I've canceled the preorder the other day. No date on when it would ship or be available. I also don't think it will age well and I've kept my 8700k for a long time.

If I really want to spend money I can buy a z490 board and a 10900k or 10850k. But I think the right thing to do is try to upgrade my gpu and then wait until the next generation.
