theoretically, doesn't jumping with both legs yield a greater vertical because energy is provided by two legs, rather than one? also include arm motion.

edit: the jump is done while running. ie. running to the hoop and dunking a basketball.

and check out how they run, jump, and land. we're talking about vertical jump and landing on your feet.

With one leg you are stretched out more, hence you get a higher reach , but less distance off the ground, unless you are running and can take advantage of your momentum,.
