The most expensive one that's not more than $400?

If you don't want to spend $400, then get the Pro version (the one that comes with the 20GB HDD). Avoid the Arcade version.

except for the harddrive and other accesories are they all they same? i do want one that has HDMI output.

Yes, the Pro has HDMI now. Also has a wireless controller.

The only difference between the Elite and the Pro is the color and the HDD size.

Plus the HDMI cable and associated dongle.

Like Queasy said, get the Pro. Make sure you get a bundle that has Forza 2, which is the best racing game ever made. Period. Also make sure you get a Falcon (which I'm pretty sure is the only stock on shelves right now anyway), or your Xbox will also double as a frying pan. Despite the perceived bargain, this is NOT a good thing.

We need to make an FAQ, and the answer to this question would always be "Get the Xbox 360 'Pro' unless you have a specific reason to get one of the others." For most people, the "Pro" is the way to go. Elite is a bad value (extra $100 for black case and 100 GB of disk space) and the Arcade lacks a hard drive that you really should have. So unless you really want the black case/120 GB, or you really don't need a hard drive ever (meaning no large DLC), "Go Pro!" like the box says.
