there are a lot of x800xl manufacturer, which one is better?
or more likely to get?
mmm, the 150$ difference is worth for the x850xt???

Get the one with 512mb of ram!!!

j/k.

p.s. the x850xt isn't worth it, go for a PCI-E x800xl just make sure it comes with 16 pipes (if you aren't familiar with unlocking).

Do you need dual dvi or vivo?

If no, go with the ATI version.

If yes, MSI is nice.

If you plan to oc it, go with Powercolor.

Check the benchmarks for yourself. I don't think the X850 is 50% faster than the XL, though, so I'd say it isn't worth it. As for which XL to get, I'd go for the one with the longest warranty and the quietest cooler. I don't know which that is, but you can read some reviews and check some product pages to find out.

I have the PCI-Express Gigabyte model with the fanless heatpipe cooler, because silence is worth the few extra dollars.

I wouldnt pay over $315 for one.

My top brands for ATI cards are:

ATI
Powercolor
MSI
Saphire

Connect3D is also alright, they're XL was the cheapest on newegg last time I checked.

May of changed now.

Once again, dont pay anymore then $315 for one. Stick to around $300.

Dont kid your self, the x800xl is a fast top of the line card.

The only reason to get the x850xt is if you want to be faster than everyone else.

well guys i have the zalman vf700cu cooler, so no worry about the silence! 🙂
i am planning to overclock it! so do u advice power color???

Get the cheapest one you can because there isn't much difference. I got the Connect3D for $249 total last week from MonarchComputer. Check that site often searching for x800 xl and you'll no doubt get a similar deal soon.

You may be different, but a great many of the users here will be buying another card in six months anyway so saving your bucks for the next wave of appealling cards may make more sense in the long run than spending an extra $100 now when you probably won't see any real world difference.

Just my take on it...

The Powercolor with the molex power connecter.

If you can find it for less then $315 go for it. Otherwise its not worth it.

Make sure its the version with the molex.

Yes and no.

The Connect3d which is the cheapest will be the same as the other brands.

But if you want to squeeze every bit of performance by overclocking, the powercolor is the way to go.

I would just go with the connect3d.

the cheepest one is Connect 3D is at 274(OEM)$ from monarchcomputer!
then Rosewill RX8XL-256PX Video Card - Retail @ 277$
then ATI RADEON X800XL PCIE 256MB - Diamond Viper X800 XL - GX800XLPCIEWB @ 283 $
then MSI Retail is at 305$
then Ati DVD Edition retail at 317$
then PowerColor is @ 345$ Retail

Connect3D....got some room for overclocking as well !! although i think powercolor is better for overclocking...i dont think its worth paying $345 for it.
