SSH if I have a choice. 😉

VNC is easy and free. Security is generally a concern, unless you tunnel it over SSH.

VNC, I don't like how remote desktop logs the other computer out while its active. With VNC both computers can be active at the same time.

Depends on what I want to do. Some programs act funky when accessing them through a second session with RD. Generally, for administrative purposes, I use VNC. For working from home, RD.

Oh, and wrong forum.

realvnc .. that's what's installed at work. works out OK for me. I can VNC in from home. i have a cable modem. a little slow until i log in, then not too bad.

VNC all the way. I have it installed on every box at work and at our remote locations. Makes life so much easier. I use TightVNC. Never heard of Ultra or Meta. Might have to check em out.
