Which would YOU get? ASUS P5E Deluxe X48 or P5Q Deluxe P45?

Which would you guys suggest getting? I will be doing mostly gaming, and some video editing as well...I plan to overclock too. Thanks for your opinions.

P5E Deluxe X48

P5Q Deluxe P45

Will be using E8400

MAY eventually go with Crossfire, have not made up my mind yet. I was going to go with EVGA 750i, but seems they still have not been able to fix their video corruption issues, and the GTX 280's dont seem to be all that, when you can slap together 2 of the 4850's for half the price and do better than the 280's.

Or hell, if you have a better gaming solution in the same price range =) (200 - 250)

For only $20 difference, is there even a reason to consider the P45 next to the X48?

Yes, 8x/8x bottlenecks at 1900x1200 (and often lower) in a tweaktown test of 4850s, so 4870s will be even worse.

you need the X48

If you only plan to run at 1600x1050 or will use a single-slot card, the PQ5 Pro is P45 8x/8x for $150 so it seems a better choice for P45 than the Deluxe.

It's really a question of features over raw-power. You will end up getting more features, which is very happy, but you will get less performance. On the other side you will have to pay more and get a better performing machine but without those sweet features. I am considering purchasing the Asus P5E Deluxe. Although I am not positive yet... The features are REALLY nice and always swing me for some reason.

I have the P5E and its a great board. Solid and fast. Theres nothing so great on the P5Q that makes it better than X38/48.

What features are you liking on the P5Q?
