which would you choose? a dual cpu system, 2 667Mhz P3, 1Gig memory. or AMD 1.2GigHz, 500megs memory?

im thinking about building a new system but i cant decide between a dual cpu 667 system or a 1.2gighz amd sytem. thanks for the input.

I would definitely go for the AMD rig. There is only a handful of software that can truly take advantage of dual processing, so unless you're running those programs, that second cpu will be wasted. Also, half a gig of RAM is more than enough for the vast majority of users. Once again, unless you really think you're going to be needing one gig of RAM, it will be wasted.

downgrade to 512 and then upgrade to 700mhz then oc it to 933.
