We were just discussing this here at work. Laptops seem to run out of battery right around 2 hours and I was thinking about how to optimize it so that I can watch a full movie without running out of battery. So putting an image on the hard drive and mounting it would be better than watching a DVD? How about converting it to Divx? I think you'd lose hardware decoding and that might end up costing more power. Any thoughts?
No idea, I don't mess with that, I just use a simple image, but since DivX is so lossy, in theory it would give you better battery life, because it would require less processing and could be read more slowly.
