You're brushing your teeth in the bathroom and you see something in the reflection in the mirror. You turn around and you see the ghost of a child staring at you curiously with his upper body exposed while his lower body is behind the shower curtain. The figure quickly disappears.

Which would freak you out more: the ghost of the child or the ghost of the adult?

Depends on what they looked like. I'd say the child because a child in my current setting (college dorm) would be WAY out of place, psychologically speaking.

Granted, if the adult was a ghostly zombie (ie with burns, cuts, mutilations with visible blood) then that would freak me out more than the child. And vice versa.

I would say the adult. I think the child you would be more sympathetic towards and maybe want to find out why he/she is there. The adult. Obviously they're their to rape and torment you.

Adult would freak me out more, just because I could at least see half of the kid. In the adult's case, it's hidden behind the shower curtain, so looking back and seeing a figure behind the curtain, yeah, I'd either jump and tackle them or throw my toothbrush at the shower curtain and run out of the bathroom.
