logitech is by far the best. I don't like bluetooth and feel it's a technology that is too early at this time to impress me.

The MX700 has loads of buttons and is comfortable as all hell.

I was faced with the same decision a few weeks ago.
I decided on the MX700. Ive used both, and the MS Bluetooth still lags, where as he MX700 doesnt, at all.

I cannot make a direct comparison but I can tell u about the Bluetooth mouse as I see it. In terms of response I have to say when I first got the most I was a little dissappointed about the response times and gaming use generally. However, it was not until I read up on Bluetooth and someone mentioned that the mouse surface is very important that went and purchased an Everglide Giganta mouse mat. I must say this made a massive difference to both the mouse performance/latency. The mouse is excellent in games. In fact it has without a doubt improved my game quite a bit.

The feel and grip of the mouse is excellent, to the extent I would not go back to my Intellimouse Explorer mice at all. I have had logitech mice b4 and the ones I've owned also felt good also.

Bluetooth mice work at a higher frequency than other wireless alternatives not sure but I believe around 2500Hz. This means that portable phones etc will not have an effect on it's performance. I must say that I've not owned a wireless mouse other than my Bluetooth one so I don't know if this is relevent really. Also, Bluetooth mice are secure or should I say more secure than other wireless alternatives. That is to say the signal apparently if I'm correct can not be interupted by other devices as it's supposed to be secure.

I'd check em both out if you can b4 you buy. I would suggest it that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and the size of the wallet. :)
Now, the only disadvantage is that the batteries only last 2 to 3 weeks. A pain at first but I would honestly say to me it's worth it to keep what is an excellent mouse.

Em, do you mean if the mouse has gone into sleep mode, then when you move it it does lag a little. This is true. However, once you have moved the mouse it does not lag at all. :)

MX700 hands down. It has absolutely no lag. Its got rechargable batteries that you charge in the reciever and the batteries last a real long time too. Feels so nice too. My brother has a microsoft wireless optical explorer (I think that what its called) and its crap.

The MS Bluetooth, is probably a good mouse, but for gaming, the MX700 far out performs it.
I found the MS Bluetooth to be sligtly laggy, where as the MX700 aint, so i got the MX700.
You have to replace the batteries in the MS bluetooth everynow and then, where as the MX700, you dont, just place it on the charging unit. So the MX700 is cheaper in the long run.
Having to buy a expensive mouse mat, just to get decent performance out of it, also adds to the already large cost of buying/sustaining the mouse.
When you buy the MS Bluetooth mouse, all you are buying is a Bluetooth reciever/transmitter, and a normal MS cordless, coverted to use bluetooth.
I use my Mobile phone next to my MX700, and the mouse still works fine, it affects my wireless headphones though.

On a side note to MX700 owners, and to philip if he buys the MX700.
Logitech reccommend a white piece of paper as a mouse mat, to prolong the battery life even further, and slightly increase the accuracy.

The Everglide Optical Giganta pad does that as well.

If you`re serious about buying a very good mouse and also take your gaming serious as well ,it pays to have a good mouse pad.

Everglide Giganta Optical review .

phlip between the two I would go with the MX700.

Like i said, logitech reccommends. Not me.

I`m saving up for a fancy mouse mat anyway. I just blew the last of my money on the MX700 a few weeks ago.

You have the benefit of using both mice so I can't comment really, but the MS BT mouse is excellent.

You have to replace the batteries in the MS bluetooth everynow and then, where as the MX700, you dont, just place it on the charging unit. So the MX700 is cheaper in the long run.

Every 2/3 weeks which is a pain.

Having to buy a expensive mouse mat, just to get decent performance out of it, also adds to the already large cost of buying/sustaining the mouse.

As Mem says's if your serious about gaming then a decent Mouse Mat is required.

When you buy the MS Bluetooth mouse, all you are buying is a Bluetooth reciever/transmitter, and a normal MS cordless, coverted to use bluetooth.

Yes, of course, but you also get the option of connection 6 other peripherals etc to the same receiver, such as Keyboards, Webcams, Printers, Scanners etc...It is not only a Mouse receiver/transmitter with secured connections.

It's all subjective, but Philp, if you can have a go with both and make your own mind up. My take is that I bet they are both great mice and you won't go wrong with either. They both have advantages and disadvantages.... :)

According to Shagga, the MS BT mouse is actually good(on the right surface), and if you are planning on using BT stuff, then go for the MS BT mouse.
If you arnt, the save a bit of money and get the MX700, and a something else, treat yourself!!!

You`ve never actually said, if you will be using the mouse for gaming have you? Will you be using it for gaming?
