Which would be faster overall?

1 of these:

raptor 150gb

or

2 of these in RAID 0?

WD 500gb in RAID 0

I ask because I already have one of the WD drives and it would be about $20 cheaper to pick up another and go raid with it than to get 1 Raptor 150 for a new build. I'll not fill up the Raptor or the WD drives either one so it's just more of what would be faster.

the Raptor gets 77.6 on HD tach 3, and the WD gets 60 (single drive).

with the 15K and 10K drives what you get is ultra low seek times, that is where the snappiness comes in. so the raptor will be quicker and the raid 0 will be faster in str.

as has been already said it depends on what you are doing, for loading games/opening programs the raptor will be faster, for importing/editing high defintion video in premiere (or something equivolent) the raid will be faster, also remember raid has a much higher rate of failure (if 1 drive dies you loose everything).
