AMD Duron 1.2ghz

OR

AMD Athlon 1.1ghz (200FSB)??

I am thinking the duron as it has the morgan core.

Hmmm....well the Athlon does have the 256kb cache but the Duron has data pre fetch and SSE...and further thoughts?

The Athlon hands down.

So many people keep saying this, but it just isn't true. If the Thunderbird and Duron are running on the same fsb speed, they are very close in overall performance at equal clock speeds. Of couse you can use the pencil trick with either cpu and lower the multiplier and raise the fsb speed to 133MHz or more. The only time the t-bird at the same speed has an small advantage over the morgan, is when the thunderbird is running 266MHz and the morgan stock at 200MHz.

As they are, the 1.2GHz Duron is definately faster than the 1.1GHz 200MHz t-bird. The data prefetch and SSE optimizations in the Morgan make up for the lost L2 cache.
