I am building/upgrading my home computer and I would like to know which video card I should choose. My $ budget for a vid card is around $150.

Do I choose:

1. eVGA 256-P2-N370-TX Geforce 6600 256MB DDR PCI-E x16 = $145

or

2. eVGA 128-P2-N368-TX Geforce 6600GT 128MB GDDR3 PCI-E x16 = $169

Now I would believe that I should choose a 256MB card, but why would I want to pay more for a 128MB card? Please help me understand and make a good choice.

Specs on new computer so far:
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 1GHz FSB Socket 939
MSI K8N Neo4/SLI Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI
CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200)

Dont fall for the marketing hype. The 6600gt has a way faster gpu, so it's a lot better for games even with 128mb mem, while the 6600 will never run any games fast enough at settings that actually require 256mb mem.

Edit: Oh yeah, and welcome to the forums...

Hmm the pci-e of a 6600 gt looks nice. I used to have 6600 256 mb agp, very happy with it also.
