My car has a 3.5mm jack built in that was connected to the stock head unit. When I installed a new head unit, the 3.5mm jack became non-functional.

I have an adapter now for my new head unit that will take an RCA cable input from an auxiliary source.

I got a 3.5mm to RCA cable, and cut the 3.5mm end off, then I stripped the outer jacket to see the wires. I also cut that 3.5mm jack from the harness it was connected to.

Here are pictures of the wires:

The wires on the left are from the RCA cable. There are four wires: two black, red, and blue.

The wires on the right are from the 3.5mm jack. Four wires as well: two red, gray, and blue.

To get this 3.5mm jack to work, all I need to do is solder the wires from it to the wires from the RCA cable, right?

Anyone know which wire from the 3.5mm jack needs to be soldered to which wire on the RCA cable?

I don't have a multimeter or other tools that would be useful in this situation.

Here's a page from my car's service manual showing what each wire is for in the 3.5mm jack:

The wires on the right side of the first picture are from the 3.5mm jack (the one labeled "Stereo Jack Adapter (harness side connector)" in the page from the service manual.
