Which Widescreen LCD

Hello I was wondering what others thought about wich widescreen monitor to get. I want something around 1680 x 1050 for flash, photoshop, and games.
I was looking at the Samsung 215tw which I can get for about 430 which has a three year warranty, from best buy and what I like about that it they will swap it if it has a dead pixel.
Now also the dell 2007fpw seems to be a favorite which I know will have a pretty good deal every so often i think right now you can get it for like 367 with a 3 yr warranty. But i have read somethings about the monitor and also trying to return it when it has a few dead pixels and it makes me nervus to jump on that one. Or the NEC 20WMGX2 which i don;t know what I can get that for at best buy I can get a discount on it but I am up for any suggestions also please take it to consideration return policy for dead pixels.

I still like the Dell 2005fpw you can find some good deals on ebay for them.

All I can say, having just gone from 6 bit to 8 bit. 8 bit is a must.

Apparently, same panel but Viewsonic is supposed to have better build quality, 3 vs. 1 year warranty, and warranty covers dead pixels/ backlight problems. Viewsonic seems to be gamers choice; Sceptre seems to work well for multimedia such as HDTV and DVDs.

Yes, if you're doing photoshop and flash, 8bit is must. Usually, if the response time is below 8ms, it's 6bit. But it's not easy to find out if a certain LCD is based on 6bit or 8bit.

dunno how you can compare sceptre's crap to a viewsonic... viewsonic is a very well known LCD and crt maker.. i remember my first 14" lcd was made by viewsonic about 6? years ago.

Basically, the VX2025wm will make you happy. It's a great deal too, fairly cheap.

If you do heavy photoshop work you need to look at monitors with S-IPS.

The only one mentioned with this is the NEC 20WMGX2

The panel in the viewsonic will not be good for this since it is a P-MVA panel. The samsung will be alright since it is S-PVA but it still wont be as good as S-IPS.

Also the Dell has had so many revisions and still has problems I would not trust it. That uses a PVA panel also.

If you are at all worried about color reproduction stick with S-IPS.

Why is the S-IPS so much better for Photoshop (just curious, I don't do photoshop)

Whats the difference in the types of panels anyway (a link please?)

Also, is my VX2025 a true 8-bit panel?

Don't know how you can say that without having used a Sceptre, which you obviously haven't. At least their 1080p LCD TV's were compareable to the Westinghouse ones if I remember correctly.

Which of the one's OP mentioned are 8 bit?
does the 215TW have a tv tuner built in?
