Which is bullsh1t anyway, because you can only have integers in a ratio.
But its already been established that the industry can make up whatever BS they want and get away with it.
Just like the 8 million to one contrast ratios and 50 thousand lumins we see on monitor specifications.

EDIT: I like 16:9. Its the square of 4:3 and I like that. 🙂

2.35 is just too wide screen. If you want to have your computer using that kind of screen, it makes doing things other than watching movies difficult to do without wasting desktop real estate. For TVs (which I don't believe in), unless all you do is watch your widescreen movie collection, you're going to feel kinda silly watching regular TV with huge black bars and even regular HD with some peculiar distortion.

Sure... perfect world, let's made TVs panoramic.
