Which webhosting/domain registration company to use?

I need something extremely basic and cheap: 1 domain name and a few megs of webspace. Is there any company that has something offers a few megs of space free with their registration? or should I buy the domain and point it to some free website?

The site will be a few static HTML pages and that's it.
