Which way would you go if you were driving from PA to CA?

80->76->70->15 (Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas)

76->70->44->35->40->8 (Oklahoma City, and Phoenix )

They're almost exactly the same mileage

Which way would you go

When are you going? If during the winter, take the southern route.

When I drove from Purdue to LA, we took 55 down to 44 (I think) and then 40 over to 10.

Go to your local AAA (if you are a member) and ask them if they can find out if there is any major construction or reason that a delay might occur on either path.

If it comes down to it, go the more south route. It'll be warmer :)

West! jk

I would go the northern route, unless you will be leaving in the winter, then take the southern one.

I would avoid Chicago and Denver (and vegas for that matter) because traffic can be a real bitch around those cities

80 through Chicago is one of the worst places to drive. The 20 mile trip (approximate distance) has taken me anywhere from 45minutes to 4 hours.

I would take the northern route, but I would try and avoid the major cities.
