Communism killed alot more people and lasted alot longer so I will say communism...

Millions were killed in the first years alone during the bloody Bolshevik revolution.

If I was Jewish I would probably say naziism since they targeted my people though

Naziism is worse. No rationale behind their major killings. The Communist don't believe in racial superiority, kill political opposition and reactionist.

Neither one is democratic and both are controlled by an aristocratic elite. Both suck although fascim has better privatization.

Nope, just an idle curiosity. Personally, I regard Communism to be far worse, but I have personal reasons for that distinction.

Both deemed themselves destined to be masters of the world. The Nazis thought they were the people to do it and the communists thought they had the government and economic system to do it. Both considered people either vehicles or obstacles to that end. Those who were vehicles were to be exploited and those who were obstacles were to be removed. Being a human being had no value by itself in the grand scheme of things, only what you could do for the state. Both had whole classes of people that were deemed enemies of the state just for belonging to that classification. Kind of hard to figure any criteria that would be pertinent to measuring which was the worse. Each claimed a moral basis for their aims too.

Depends on how you look at it, IMO. If the question was: If the world was to be Fascist or Communist, which would you choose?; then I would choose Communist. I would choose Communism simply because what race or what condition you are born as won't determine if you are killed.

All authoritarian governments suck. I would not choose to live under any of them. We need a third poll option.

Well geepers us celts don't know what to make of you all non celts... I always thought Communism was economic and Nazism was political... Maybe, Carl was wrong or Adolph was... I'd opt for Christianism myself which could fit into either of the choices... I think.
I'm only 2' 6" tall so I can choose what I want... right?

Nazi. At least part of the communist movement had good aims, albeit ones that were jaded and eventually cast aside by Stalin and the likes. But Marxism as a philosphy (although flawed) is nowhere near as nefarious as Naziism.

Yea, I seem to recall Stalin.

Of course authoritarian governments suck, hell, Communism as practiced has sucked royally, but given the choice between Stalin and Hitler, I'd choose Stalin and just keep my opinions to myself. Hitler would take a DNA test and decide your fate, at least with Stalin you had a chance to live.

I suspect there is no "third option" for a reason, perhaps to choose between the lesser of 2 evils.

I have to agree here. The Communist system IS flawed, but its major flaws were the people that ran it. Naziism on the other hand could not have been beneficial to anyone. Sure, nationalism in moderation is not always bad, but Hitler to me was way worse than Stalin. There is no denying that Stalin killed more people, but would rather live in a Communist State than a Nazi state. At LEAST there is always the chance Communism might somehow work. Naziism has no change to work.

Heh... Yeah me too. My mother tells wonderful stories of the allied air raids. The Germans considered it terrorism, funny how times change.

Anyway... anyone that lived in Germany during that time doesn't want to even consider it an option again. Don't get me wrong they hated the Soviets, but that was due to the Soviet's uncanny ability to fill body bags. About 80% of the loses were on the Eastern Front and I have many relatives that were killed by Russian forces.

On a side note Communism under Stalin is probably the worst, most corrupt (non-Communist), version of history to point to as an illustrator of Communist practice. Any of us would take Marxest Communism anyday over Stalin's perversions.

I'd say Nazism.

I'll cast economic issues aside (althought we saw communism doesn't work in the long term, Nazism existed only for a short time, so we don't know if their economic system would have worked in the long term or not) and just focus on how people lived.

My parents lived most of their lives under communism and things simply weren't that bad. The stories they tell me about living in the 70s remind me a lot of 50s type society in NA. If my dad had a choice, he would prefer the "good old days" of communist Bulgaria rather than today's Canada.

Naziism is worse. Its a no-brainer really. Nazis were hell-bent on world domination, much like the current U.S. gov't.

Communism, technically is not necessarily a bad thing. The semi-utopian state of the Federation in Star Trek would be considered Communism. It literally means that everything is owned by the general populus, rather than individuals.

What the Russian and other gov'ts claimed to be "communism", is in fact not communism but is socialism. True communism doesn't work in real life because if there is no personal gain people are lazy and not motivated to work, among other reasons.

In theory Communism is a great thing - no goverment ,no money ,everyone is equal - like living in a big commune. Unfortuanlty humans don't work that way and it becomes a very currupt and evil thing.
