vrm2 is the one on the left. It's the vrm for the gpu's memory.

Thanks looks like I've got to find a better heatsink for VRM 1 then :( anyone got any recommendations? Need to be able to fit to a R9 290 and be in the UK.

VRM2 is the one on the left. It is not suppose to generate too much heat. On the other end, the VRM1 (on almost any cards is on the right) needs to have proper cooling.

What kind of card and cooler do you have?

R9 290 with gelid icy vision (It says in my sig) ;) Just need to sort that VRM out and I will be very happy with it! Temps are fine except for this. Might get a very high airflow front intake to fire at it and hope that helps but I put my desk fan onto the card and the temps only dropped about 5-10c!

Do you have any heatsinks on the VRM1?

Yes got the standard one on tied on with zip ties D: Works and has decent contact but seems my to run to high, might get some thermal tape and try sanding down the heatsink.

It doesn't have decent contact and that's for sure if you are hitting 100'C.
