Which voltage to trust?

Hello, In regards to the system in my sig - I've been looking at CPU-Z all along and it's reported voltage of 1.408-1.424 - it fluctuates a bit which I've read here to be normal.

However, I just checked in the BIOS and it's set to 1.4. Is this normal? Should I trust what CPU-Z says more than the bios setting? Thanks.

Keep in mind that you are running Windows when you use cpuz. When you read the bios voltage, Windows is not running. That alone can make a difference.

bios would give u better results then cpu z but the bios could be miss reading or a falty sensor.

What it's set to and what it is are different things.

definately the BIOS, ive had CPU-Z read my voltage as 1.5 before, whereas my bios read it at 1.475

Great, thanks everyone, I'll go by what the BIOS says, which in this case is 1.4v.
